IWC Da Vinci

IWC Da Vinci
Kurt Klaus spent fifty years with IWC as a highly successful designer and inventor. The Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Edition Kurt Klaus watch is a tribute to Klaus. This watch has the same automatic calendar/chronograph movement that has been used since 1985, only now it is in the new Da Vinci tonneau-shaped case. Along with the date, day, month, year and perpetual moon phase displays, the watch has Kurt Klaus’s signature at the bottom of the dial and an engraving with his likeness on the back cover.

The Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Edition Kurt Klaus has a 18 carat rose gold case coupled with a dark brown crocodile leather strap and it is available with a stainless steel case and a black crocodile leather strap as well.

It has a glass, sapphire, convex anti-reflective crystal and a screwed crown and this watch is an automatic winding watch.

The IWC Da Vinci Chronograph was released in 2007 and broke new ground with its new IWC manufactured 89360 calibre movement in a tonneau shaped case with a sapphire glass back cover. It measures seconds in any one minute with the central seconds hand but it displays longer periods of time with two analogue hands on one subdial. The minutes and hours of the period being timed are read from a miniature watch in the dial, so no need to read them separately and then count them together. This innovative technique and mechanism will increase the practical benefits of the chronograph. The Da Vinci Chronograph is available in the following colors: Platinum case and a crocodile leather strap; 18 carat white gold case with crocodile leather strap: 18 carat rose gold case with rose gold strap; Stainless steel case and crocodile leather strap or a stainless steel case with a stainless steel bracelet.

The IWC Da Vinci Automatic Precious Stones men’s watch offers a mechanical movement and is self-winding. This watch has a 42 hour power reserve when wound fully and comes with a large date display at the 3 o’clock position. The bezel is fixed and is set with precious stones and the the crystal is convex and of a sapphire glass. This watch is available in a choice of different dials and soft straps including a rose gold that will bring admiring glances from anyone who loves luxury watches.

To round out the Da Vinci collection from IWC the Da Vinci Chronograph Edition Laureus Sport for Good Foundation watch is a limited edition of 1000 watches and it is offered in stainless steel. The dial is an eye-catching deep Laureus blue and this watch has a stopwatch display that is very easy to read. Powering this watch inside its tonneau shaped case is an 89360 calibre IWC movement.

On the backside of the watch is engraved a group of young girls playing handball, depicting the hope of a better and carefree life. IWC and the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation held a drawing competition and the winner-a 15 year old girl from Mumbai, drew the design. Each watch comes with a “Let the Children Play” illustrated book published by IWC that contains well know photographers and authors document projects that are supported by the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation.
